I spent most of my earlyprofessional years in the cable television industry, which was nothing short of a Wild West show at the time. Then later, after I was given a regular column in CableFAX, that indusry's daily publication of record, I decided to list as many of the long-lost cable brands I had seen come and go in my time. This list first appeared in CableFAX in 2003, and would certainly be twice as long if I were to attempt compile the same thing today.
I offer the collection of names less for the general public than for lucky few who, like myself, spent time in one of the craziest but most rewarding industries of the past 50 years.
